QR Ordering Built in Burnaby, BC
Your kitchen never sees an order until a person checks it first.
Most QR ordering tools send an order straight to the kitchen the second a guest taps submit, typos and all. Servd adds one extra step: every order sits in a confirmation queue first, so a real person can catch the double tap, the wrong spice level, or the order that was meant for table 6 and landed on table 9. Guests ordering from the same table get tracked individually, and splitting the bill afterward takes one tap instead of a server working it out by hand.
Now booking founding restaurants across Metro Vancouver, BC · No commissions, ever.
This is a live-feeling mock of the actual Servd order flow, not a screenshot.
See The Whole Product
Two screens. One system. Built to work together.
Servd isn't just an order form bolted onto a QR code. It's the screen your guest taps, and the live control panel you run your shift from, and they were designed as one product, not two.
What Your Customers See
Scan, order, done.
- No app to download, it opens straight in their phone's browser
- Spice levels, sold-out items, and today's markdowns, all live
- One tap to order, one tap to split the bill afterward
What You See As The Owner
Your whole floor, at a glance.
- Every order pauses for your confirmation before the kitchen sees it
- See who ordered what, and how they want the bill split, at a glance
- Clear a cancelled order off your board without losing the record
What Actually Makes Servd Different
Every other QR tool fires orders straight into your kitchen. Servd pauses first.
Speed is easy to build. Getting the order right before your line cook ever sees it is the part nobody else bothered to build.
🏭 Typical QR ordering tools
- Order hits the kitchen the instant it's placed, mistakes and all
- No record of who at the table ordered what
- Splitting a bill still means a server with a calculator
- Built for chains, priced and supported like it
🍽️ Servd
- Every order pauses in a "Needs Confirmation" queue for a human check first
- Per-guest tagging, even across separate phones at one table
- Bill together, split evenly, or split per person, in one tap
- Built for one independent restaurant at a time, starting with yours
How A Table Becomes A Paid Check
Four steps. No app. No POS overhaul.
Guest scans and orders
They scan the table's QR, see your live menu, pick spice levels, and tag their name, all from their own phone, no app to install.
It pauses for you
The order lands in your "Needs Confirmation" queue, kept clearly separate from anything already headed to the kitchen.
One tap, it's confirmed
Review it, fix anything wrong, tap Confirm. It's timestamped, and now it's genuinely in your kitchen's queue.
Bill however they want
Together, split evenly, or split per person, chosen in one tap, and displayed clearly enough to read aloud at the table.
The Full Menu
Everything on the table, plainly stated.
The Local Wedge
Built five minutes from your restaurant, not five time zones away.
National platforms like Toast, Square, iShopo, and SimpleQR are built for scale: thousands of locations, call-center support, and pricing that takes a cut of every order you ring in. Servd is built for one independent restaurant at a time, starting with yours.
If you're running a family restaurant anywhere in Metro Vancouver, you already know the problems a generic platform doesn't solve: a Friday dinner rush with two servers covering the whole floor, a table of eight asking to split four ways at the end of the night, and a kitchen that overproduces the daily special because nobody had a spare minute to update the count. Servd was built around those specific problems, not a generic feature list written for a boardroom.
| National platforms | Servd | |
|---|---|---|
| Per-order commission | Often 1 to 3%+ per transaction | $0, ever |
| Who answers when something breaks | A support queue | The person who built it |
| Server confirmation step | Not typically offered | Built in from day one |
| Per-guest order tracking | Rare or add-on | Included |
| Where the company is based | Toronto, SF, or further | Burnaby, BC |
This is a real, hands-on independent practice, not a call center with a script. My name is Pankaj Singh, and if you email or call, you're talking to me directly: the person who designs, builds, and maintains the system, based right here in Metro Vancouver.
Why I Built This
I got tired of watching small restaurants get treated like an afterthought.
I'm Pankaj Singh, a software developer and designer based in Burnaby, BC. I started building Servd after watching a few independent restaurants near me get boxed into ordering platforms that were clearly designed for chains: steep per-order fees, generic branding, and support that meant filing a ticket and waiting.
None of that made sense for a twelve-table restaurant run by one family wearing five different jobs on a Friday night. So I built something smaller on purpose. No commission on your sales, no call center, and no bloated feature list you'll never open. Just the two things that actually matter at a busy table: someone checking the order before it hits the kitchen, and a bill that splits the way your guests actually want it to.
I design it, build it, host it, and support it myself. If something breaks at 7 PM on a Friday, you're not sitting in a ticket queue. You're texting me.
Outside of Servd, I also take on web and app projects for other independent businesses in Metro Vancouver that need something built specifically around how they actually operate, not a template with their logo pasted on. If that sounds like your business, the same booking link on this page works for that conversation too.
Built to be used on a busy Friday night
Every screen is designed for a server holding a tray, not a product demo. If a flow needs a manual to explain it, it gets redesigned, not documented.
Full-stack, end to end
One person designs, builds, hosts, and supports the whole system, so there's no gap between how it was designed and how it actually behaves in your restaurant.
Advice included, not upsold
Menu structure, table layout, spice-level pricing, split-billing policy. Happy to think through the operational side with you, not just hand over software.
Beyond Servd
Need something built outside of restaurant ordering? That's on the table too.
Servd is the flagship project, but the same hands-on approach applies to any small business that needs real software built around how it actually works, not a template.
Custom web design and development
A site built around your actual business, not a drag-and-drop template with your logo swapped in. Fast, clean, and easy for you to update yourself afterward.
Web and mobile app development
From a simple internal tool to a full customer-facing app, designed and built end to end by one person, not handed off between five different specialists.
Technical consulting and support
Stuck on a tech decision, a broken integration, or a vendor that overpromised? Get a straight, practical answer from someone who actually builds this stuff.
We Know You've Been Burned Before
Most restaurant owners have a tech-vendor horror story. Here's how Servd is different, plainly.
No commissions, no surprise fees
One flat setup cost, one small flat monthly fee. Nothing scales against your sales. A busy Friday night doesn't cost you more.
Live in days, not months
Your menu, tables, and QR codes get set up directly with you, no drawn-out onboarding process or endless back-and-forth tickets.
Your menu data, not mine to hold hostage
No multiyear contract games. If Servd isn't working for you, you're not stuck. I'd rather earn the renewal every year than lock you into one.
Early Access
Built and tested. Now taking on the first few restaurants.
Servd is a fully working system, not a slide deck. The ordering flow, the confirmation step, per-guest tracking, and split billing are all built and running today. What's next isn't more building, it's the first restaurant putting it to work on a real Friday night.
See it on a real call
No sales deck. A live walkthrough of the actual system, using your menu if you'd like.
Set up together
Your menu, tables, and QR codes get set up directly with you, usually within a few days.
You shape what's next
As one of the first restaurants on Servd, your feedback directly decides what gets built next.

Don't let the numbers above worry you. These are starting points, not fixed prices. Every restaurant runs differently: different table counts, different order volume, different needs. Tell me what your restaurant actually needs, and I'll put together something that fits your budget without cutting corners on what makes this work well for you.
That's usually still less than the tab on one lost table a month, and unlike a percentage-based platform, it never grows with your sales.
